Eagles fans waiting with bated breath for the debut of James Bradberry at his new safety position learned that they will remain oxygen-deprived for six-to-eight weeks, after the team put Bradberry on injured reserve Thursday with what was reported in various outlets to be a leg injury involving a tendon.
Bradberry, 31, sustained the injury during Wednesday’s practice. He is not expected to require surgery. Bradberry’s importance to the team’s defensive backfield was underscored when the Eagles elected to replace him by bringing linebacker Oren Burks up from the practice squad. So, they must have added a safety to the PS, then, right? Nope. Offensive lineman Brett Toth has returned.
