Yet again, I understand it. But I don’t like it.
I’ve been thinking and saying that phrase a lot this Eagles offseason. Five starters and 14 players overall who were active for Super Bowl LIX are no longer on the roster. The sixth starter and 15th player to depart is likely to be tight end Dallas Goedert, who was the team’s leading receiver in this year’s playoffs, with 17 catches for 215 yards.
I’ve been hoping the Eagles and Goedert’s agent, Chase Callahan, might find a way to rework the current contract, which is scheduled to pay him $15.5 million this coming season.
