Bowen: Vic Fangio wants better 'backing from the Eagles

Vic Fangio came into the NFL back when inside linebacking mattered a lot. He saw it devalued there for a while, when a lot of teams became less concerned about stopping the run, more concerned about getting extra defensive backs on the field.

Fangio, about to enter his first year as the Eagles’ defensive coordinator, runs a hybrid 3-4 setup that in previous stops has featured outstanding inside linebacking.
