Breaking down the Sean Walker trade, and what it says about the Flyers' plan moving forward

Philadelphia Flyers GM Daniel Briere apparently had no interest in waiting until Friday’s trade deadline to show his cards regarding the true nature of his plan for the organization. Instead, he did it two days early.
Early Wednesday afternoon, word began to leak that 29-year old defenseman Sean Walker, acquired by the Flyers in the deal last summer that ultimately sent Ivan Provorov to Columbus, was not long for the team’s roster.
