VOORHEES -- In retrospect, the 2024-25 Philadelphia Flyers season was all about subtraction.
It started with the surprise trade of Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost. It continued with the tough decision to ship out longtime team leader Scott Laughton for a first round pick and a prospect. Even the firing of John Tortorella just a few weeks later qualified as a subtraction, in that it was a removal of a key piece with the goal of ensuring that the team's rebuilding process stayed on general manager Daniel Briere's preferred track.
