Cooper DeJean and Reed Blankenship took the microphone together at the Super Bowl parade in February on the Art Museum steps. They’ll now take the microphone together a few blocks away each week, when the Eagles defensive backs combine for a new podcast, “Exciting Mics.”
DeJean, 22, and Blankenship, 26, will launch their show on Thursday. The podcast will feature the two friends discussing football, pop culture, trending topics, what’s new in their lives, and the Philadelphia food scene. They’ll welcome special guests, including Eagles teammates and celebrity Eagles fans. The show is filmed at the PHLY Studios in Center City. It was developed by Athletes First, GOAT Farm Media, and the ALLCITY Network — the parent company of PHLY.

The show, which is sponsored by Vanda Pharmaceuticals, will include different weekly segments. In the opening episode, DeJean and Blankenship discussed their origins from rural Iowa and Alabama, respectively, and into key players on the NFL’s top defense. They also go in-depth on their Super Bowl experiences. DeJean recorded his first interception and returned it for a touchdown in the Super Bowl, which was played on his birthday. They will also review food from some of Philadelphia’s most popular restaurants.
DeJean was a 2024 second-round pick by the Eagles out of Iowa. He joined the starting lineup at slot cornerback in Week 6 after the bye week and helped propel the Eagles on a 10-game winning streak. Blankenship earned a roster spot as an undrafted rookie in 2022, and he has since developed into a key starting safety and a defensive leader.
The series will be available on the “Exciting Mics” YouTube channel, PHLY Sports YouTube channel and wherever podcasts are found, including Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
