Tyler Steen's tenure as the presumptive Eagles' starting right guard might be over. The second-year third-round pick suffered an ankle injury Saturday that Nick Sirianni said will keep him out for "a bit."
It was telling, then, that the first-team right guard with the starters on Monday was Mekhi Becton, the 25-year-old who entered the league as the No. 11 overall pick of the New York Jets in 2020. After a promising rookie season at left tackle, Becton (6-7, 363) struggled to stay healthy and in-shape over the next two seasons before starting all 16 games for the Jets at right tackle in 2023.
