Much more than the Eagles‘ season was thrown into jeopardy Monday morning, with the announcement that quarterback Jalen Hurts will presumably miss the rest of the year while being treated for multiple blood clots in his lungs.
Everyone who writes about this will state the obvious – the priority here is Hurts’ long-term health, which a joint statement from the Eagles and agent Nicole Lynn said was not in serious jeopardy. Even though deep vein thrombosis with clots in the lungs is a really serious matter.
Do they really know, with confidence, that Hurts will recover fully? A few days ago, this was a superficial clot in Hurts’ leg, the result of the QB being cleated in the Rams game. Then the clot moved, and Hurts went on IR, with optimism he could play again in five weeks or so.

“Shakes the foundation” is right. It’s been easy/pleasing to think that the Iggles are run better (or more humanely) than the other franchises, but they are all basically plantation economies and treat the players like disposable pieces of meat. I’m hopeful that Hurts will have a full recovery, and also hopeful that this might finally be what I need to stop following football.

I’m PISSED that they’d jeopardize his health, his LIFE this way. Agree that the NFL is 98% rich white owners operating plantation economies and treating the players like disposable pieces of meat.

yeah thats why they let Lane Johnson and Brandon Brooks sit out games with anxiety disorders…because they dont care aobut their players. Also notice Les kind of left out that his agent debunked the no sleep thing?
Ira Smith
Probably have seen the last of Hurts in an Iggles uniform

First thing I thought of was the Lindros fiasco.
