Obviously is a great word to use when you’re insecure and know that you don’t have good answers for yourself or others.

I agree. I’ve increasingly noticed an epidemic of the word obviously among athletes answering questions or those people, including politicians and political pundits, being posed difficult questions. Brent Flahr is one of the major culprits in Charlie O’Connor’s question and answer articles. It drives me crazy…

I think Moore is nervous in these sessions. I wonder if Sirianni’s over-the-top paranoia about never explaining anything for “competitive advantage” unsettles him.

Sirianni does not impart a level of serious, responsible leadership this team needs; he’s more like the petulant leader of a gang of youngsters, and they follow his lead with undisciplined play. It must be difficult for the (more professional) assistant coaches to deal with him. Thanks for extending to us your insightful takes of events we fans can not attend, Les.

I suspect Moore is trying to manage what Sirianni wants with what he feels they need to do and is trying to spout the company line. Anyone who has had to cover for a boss you disagree with would empathize with this. When you can’t say what you really think you get a jumbled mess in response.
