My thoughts exactly Les. Quite arrogant of them, honestly, to think they can just plug someone else in there and not skip a beat. He is a very important part of the running game as well. They need him back. He deserves to be back.

The eagles won a Super Bowl after they lost Jason Peters, a half of fame left tackle, and their starting qb. I would argue that stating they don’t win this Super Bowl without Goedert is a bit too far, Les.

Lots of words to say that a SB winning team has to make tough decisions due to the cap.

I checked at Over-the-Cap and it looks like the Eagles will take a sizable “dead money” hit if they do anything with Goedert before Jun 1st, and a not insignificant charge if they act Post June 1st. Of course, next year is even worse yet, so it looks like this might be driving the decision to do something now. But I’m with you. I hope they can sit down and do a deal that keeps him here. He’s a seriously good piece to have in the run game. It might be instructive to see how well off Barkley was when Goedert was on the sidelines. And you know they’ve already done that math. I’ll be sorry to see him go. Good piece, Les.
