What a great piece, ZB. You really capture the totality of BG and what he meant to this team and city during his legendary career.

This was great, ZB. BG’s one of a kind.

The only person I wanted to read this morning was ZB. Only writer who could do justice to BG the player and the man. BG forever.
Megan
Great piece, ZB; it really does justice to this great player and person. Will miss him on the team. Happy for him to go out on top!

Kudos, ZB, on an absolutely wonderful article – I imagine trying to sum up BG into one piece is daunting, but you really captured it with your writing that conveyed meaning, insight, emotion, and sentiment…I especially appreciated the following lines in this regard:
“So, of course, he laughed. He cried. He smiled. He joked. He talked trash. He was self-deprecating. He was a teammate. He was a husband. He was a father. He was a son. He was a Philadelphian, all in one — a 10-minute speech, a 30-minute press conference. And now he’s retired.”
“His children watched with admiration. His wife watched with love. His parents watched pride. His teammates watched with appreciation.”
Thanks for expressing all of this so simply yet eloquently as it was a joy to read – I personally think it was some of your best writing (and I think you have written a lot of great pieces). Appreciate all of your excellent work and look forward to reading the next one!

I wonder what Travis Long went onto do after the NFL. It must be strange to have your name pop up in reference to BG when he hits a big milestone

Brandon Graham represents everything that a Philadelphia Eagle should strive for in a career.

Great writing, Zach. You captured well what made BG such a treasure during his time in Philly. I’m glad that he made it back for the Super Bowl and was able to go out on top. Wishing him the best moving forward.

Excellent stuff here. Fitting tribute to the all time eagle
