“The truth is everybody has a part of this — Roseman’s roster construction, Sirianni and his staff’s coaching, the players’ underachievement.”
When everyone that’s ever worked in the NFL is criticizing the scheme on public platforms as the team is unable to score in the second half, I think we can rightfully assume that who has the biggest part here. This team won 11 games and had a top ten offense this year based on talent alone.

Two new coordinators will be the key first step. Sirianni has earned one more year (from my POV as a casual fan), but obviously the players may express something different to Howie, in which case he may have to go. Then they’ll have to fix the defense – including maybe a marquee MLB. Then they’ll have to replace Kelce after his retirement. In other words, it’s a tough path forward, but we’ll have to see!

I can’t believe they’ve done this.

Like I knew there was a very good chance they would lose yesterday, but from a macro perspective I can’t believe they’ve been outclassed and outcoached so badly in the last 2 mos. So many questions on what happened down the stretch.

Why did the d line have such trouble getting pressure down the stretch? Why did they stop rotating? Why does Barnett look so good in Houston, did the coaches give him a chance in Philly?
Why did the Patricia move happen? Why couldn’t they execute basic coverages in the last month?

On the offensive side, what happened to the scheme? Why did they have no answers to the blitz? Why did a team with a supposedly top 5 OL have such difficulty picking up blitzes and running the ball ? Why does a team with probably the best trio at Wr1-Wr2-Te in the WHOLE LEAGUE have difficulty throwing the ball? Why didn’t they throw more out of under center formations? Why didn’t they incorporate motion? WHY DIDNT THEY TUSH PUSH ON EVERY 3rd AND l 2?

Looking back on it, last years good results was a combo of a weak NFC, fortunate schedule, the tush push being a cheat code on short 3rd/4th downs, and a better player caller on both sides of the ball. And having at least competency at lb/ cb2/slot.
