Mentioning his grandfather watching Eagles during the Randall Cunningham days made me die a little inside.
I’m not 50, but I remember the Ron Jaworski days vs. Danny White days… (now excuse me while I go shake my fist and yell at that cloud).

Yeah he did a fine job making us feel super old. 😂
Sloppystakez
I felt old just from him saying his favorite players as a kid were LeSean McCoy and company.
James
Exactly my thoughts, saying grandfather and Cunningham just seems wrong to me.
Andrew Taggart
Indeed — that made me feel, so, so old as someone who remembers Cunningham being slotted in by Ryan as one of the first arguments I had over beers….

Thanks for the article Zach

Interesting. It would be great if Campbell ends up being an edge rusher–as he was originally–a la Parsons. When they drafted Nolan Smith, I thought, based on size and athleticism, that he could become “our” Parsons. However, I wouldn’t mind if he is “only” a linebacker, because I expect that someone like Fangio (a) values LBs, and (b) would figure out how to best use a kid with so much talent.

Not sure Simmons was really an option. Good chance KC doesn’t trade down if the Eagles tell them that’s who they are moving up to take.

Zach, great work on the show last night. Just curious, why were you so low on Zabel? Seems like he has everything you could ask for in an OL with his athleticism, IQ, and positional versatility. I was just surprised you were so certain he would bust. Is it just do to his school? Asking because I would have like him in a scenario where the Eagles traded back into the 30s or 40s.
Again, appreciate the work you have been doing! Looking forward to your coverage for the rest of the weekend.
Claire Flaxman
So what I’m hearing is that he might be considered, dare I say, positionless?
Can’t wait to see what Vic does with the kid. Should be fun to watch.

This may be a bit naive on my part, but it seems as though there is an easy path to him playing both edge and LB in the scheme. The DEs in Fangio’s system are expected to be able to drop into coverage, so based on his LB and edge experience he checks those boxes. Just like some are thinking Cooper DeJean may have a path to alternate between outside/nickel depending on type of coverage, I could envision Campbell being an LB in base and then coming in as an edge when just 2 LBs are deployed (Baun and Dean), with the ability to drop into coverage when called upon.

We just have no sense of when Dean will even return. That was a very serious sometimes career changing injury, I assume that Campbell will simply step into that off ball role Dean played to start? I guess we will have to see.
