I’m glad you mentioned the butterfly effect of the Reagor pick. I wouldn’t change that pick because maybe we don’t land AJB without that. AJB is a better fit and although Jefferson is probably a tier above AJB in pure talent, I’d rather have AJB because of his Inner Excellence and buy-in to the culture and org. Said another way, AJB is The Man and IDK if JJ is The Man.

I agree with this 100%, and adding to it, maybe we’re not in the positions we’re in to make the trades and acquire the draft picks to get Devonta or AJB or Carter. Yeah, Reagor stunk, but JJ might have made us JUST good enough to not make any of those moves.

Good explanation on Goedert. I think the term “cash”, which has gotten popular lately, is confusing to people. A lot of fans seem to think this somehow refers to how much an owner is willing to spend.

The term “cash” is really just future cap. It’s how much they are willing to commit to spending long term. And in Goedert’s case, they’ve clearly decided that future commitment is not worth his value added for this season.
