I hope the Howie re-signs Oren Burks.
superunoriginal
Eric above raised the point I was going to ask–where does re-signing Burks fit into all of this? Team was solid last year. After growing pains and changing the outlook, I think we started to see what the Eagles were in Week 5. Sirianni listened to the offensive line which asked to placed emphasis on the run and the defense started to come together. Not a fan of the phrase dial it back, but not a whole lot of room for improvement. Seems to be more a matter of maintenance.

Fangio said he couldn’t run a lot of blitz’s because the players didn’t know enough of the scheme so I think there’s more to come from Fangio.
“They can trade him (Dallas Goedert) if they’re ready to commit beyond this year.” ??
Kevin
If you can get Goedert to extend for a year at a lower number, I think that is a big win. Even if you have to factor in that he will miss games every year, there is enough talent on the roster to cover that, as we have seen. If he is healthy for a playoff run, it’s worth it to have to start Calcaterra six times a season.

This is the one I was waiting for! That being said to piggyback on Eric’s original point above – how to see how Oren Burks fits in now? It seems like he was Nakobe’s backup, but is that just because he was the most experienced or is that because of body type and that’s the type of linebacker he plays? If Ben V (a personal fave) is healthy is he Baun’s backup?

Is Zach the Eagles’ real GM? I still remember that article about the Eagles not drafting players from the college playoff teams…
