Fantastic stuff ZB. I remember friends who are fans of other team’s telling me how silly it was that I wanted Howie fired with Doug. At the time the thought of Howie hiring a 3rd coach after Andy seemed ridiculous. It felt like it would be a Trent Baalke situation, or Mickey Loomis this offseason. Thankfully I’m not the owner of the Birds! Howie’s ability to constantly rebuild within the structure of his bigger picture core principles of team building is really remarkable. Thanks for giving us this insight into one of the most important figures in Philadelphia sports.

Great insight, Zach! Your writing is one of the main reasons that I’ve been a PHLY subscriber since close its inception. It’s remarkable how the Eagles have turned things around since last season’s collapse, and Howie’s offseason was more masterful than I (and probably the majority of fans) could have envisioned. Hopefully it will pay off one more time this Sunday and have everyone “embracing under confetti”.
