I maintain a health skepticism of Sirianni. This whole offseason has felt a little bit like 2015, where they doubled down on what was not working and made things even worse. Obviously, it only took two years from there to fully turn things around, but I still cannot get over how much Sirianni lost the locker room down the stretch.
I know the narrative now is that he did not actually lose the locker room, and that the team just was in a bad place because things went wrong, but it still feels like they have not identified what exactly went wrong. Was it personnel on defense and coaching on offense? And what specifically do they intend to “correct” beyond the platitudes? It is unlikely we get an answer on those things until we see it on the field, which means at least 5-6 more months of feeling uneasy about this whole thing.
