Why are the 2 backup QB’s pocket passers and not mobile QB’s like Hurts?

From your X account: “The other side to the argument that the Eagles are a Saquon Barkley drop and DeVonta Smith drop away from being 14-1?

If Dallas Goedert doesn’t go 61 yards on 3rd-and-16 against the Saints or Carolina’s Xavier Legette doesn’t drop a TD in final minute, the Eagles could be 10-5.

Works both ways. The plays that count are all that count.”

This falls into the category of false equivalence; the Barkley & Smith drops were uncontested, right-in-the-hands passes that both…especially Smith…make the great majority of the time. Goedert’s 61 yd catch&run was one of, if not the, longest of his career; the Legette drop was on a much more difficult pass plus his drop rate is quite high.

Perhaps you could also include the “what if” the Eagles didn’t draft Smith in ‘21 and drafted your fave Justin Fields?
