Not sure why Sirianni’s end of season commentary isn’t simply acknowledging that, for all his public foibles, you can’t dispute the results. There is no credible argument to be made that this season hasn’t been a resounding success, and you simply can’t avoid giving some (or a lot!) of that credit to the head coach.
And while I’m sure the reporting about stripping him of his hiring power is true in the basic sense, I highly doubt anyone in the organization would characterize it that way. Probably more like “a collaborative” hiring process. And if rumors were true, Fangio would have been the hire in 2023 if he was available; that Sirianni opted for a Fangio protégé in lieu of the real thing certainly didn’t work out (and the midseason move to Patricia was a disaster), but not sure how that can be such a black mark against Sirianni.
I guess, long story short, I think Sirianni deserves some mea culpas from the press after getting pretty roundly savaged over the offseason and early season struggles. But based on the angle here, I guess that isn’t in the offing!

Bo, ZB went into your drafts and added an extra one at the bottom of the page! Beware!
As always, I appreciate your distinctive style (“What a season it has been for Baun, who emerged from somewhere inside Vic Fangio’s mind, turned corporeal and earned Pro Bowl honors in his first season as an Eagle…” made me laugh).
