In just a few short hours, the 2025 NHL Draft will begin -- and the Philadelphia Flyers will be on the clock, in more ways than one.
Some of the pressure on general manager Daniel Briere was eased due to his acquisition of Trevor Zegras earlier this week, turning one of the club's four second round picks into a prime-aged NHLer playing a position of major need. But by Briere's own admission, the Flyers expect the fruits of this draft -- in addition to their classes from 2023 and 2024 -- to make up the bulk of the team's new core.
That could come via the selections made, or the players added in exchange for parts of their stockpile of draft assets.
