WASHINGTON, D.C. -- On Thursday night, the Philadelphia Flyers lost for the eighth time in their last nine games. They set a season-high for most consecutive scoreless minutes.
And somehow, they came away rightfully feeling quite positive about how they performed.
The Flyers fell behind 3-0 to the Eastern Conference-leading Washington Capitals, and then stormed back in the third period to nearly tie things up before falling by a 3-2 score. Ryan Poehling and Sean Couturier's goals put the Flyers right on the verge of an unlikely comeback, as did the team's 17 - 2 shot domination in the final stanza. But they came up just short, in no small part due to the heroics of Capitals netminder Charlie...
