PHILADELPHIA -- Coming off arguably their most impressive victory of the season against the league-leading Winnipeg Jets on the road, the Philadelphia Flyers had an opportunity to carry that momentum into their seven-game homestand.
Instead, their fell flat on their collective faces.
Starting goalie Sam Ersson allowed three goals on five shots before being pulled in favor of Ivan Fedotov after just 9:32 of play, and the Flyers were never able to fully recover, falling by a 6-3 final score to the Calgary Flames. Fedotov stopped 25 of 27 shots, while Calder Trophy candidate Dustin Wolf made 26 saves to earn the victory.
