O'Connor: For Flyers' rebuild to work, prospect drama like absence of Alexei Kolosov cannot keep happening

The Philadelphia Flyers have made it abundantly clear that they are indeed rebuilding.
They've traded away veterans like Ivan Provorov and Kevin Hayes. They've stockpiled future assets (six picks in the first two rounds of the looming 2025 draft). They even chosen to purposely weaken their team in the midst of a playoff race.
Why? Because they're playing the long game, attempting to build the best team for three-to-five years from now rather than squeeze a couple extra wins out of this time.
Paying the long game in a rebuild means acquiring prospects. And just as importantly, keeping those prospects on the same page with the organization.
