Always great to see a Les article, even in disappointing circumstances. Hope Les can make an appearance on the PHLY Flyers pod soon!

Les,

I love the line no one excited about a Flyers power play but Lou Nolan and he gets paid to sound excited.

I told friends of mine I wanted to introduce a new rule for the Flyers, Give the Flyers the option to decline the penalty.

Its just a waste of 2 minutes.

I wonder at what point PECO asks the Flyers to take its name off the PP.

Can’t argue with anything here, but, to be fair, no one in their right mind (and I realise that rules out quite a number of Flyers fans!), reasonably thought this team was anywhere near ready to make a deep playoff run. Just sayin’.

Absolutely correct Randy. I thought they could get 1 win and with some luck maybe even a second but Carolina was winning this series. For game 4 their best chance is to stay out of the penalty box because 5×5 is where they have been fairly even with the Canes.

Les, you are a truth teller, and while the Flyers may be able to match other teams 5v5, special teams, especially where the inept power play is concerned is where they fall woefully short. Loved this line as it held true all series: “not being a Flyer — did not shoot wide or clang off the post”. Their other deficiency is finishing and it reared its ugly head in each and every game. Unfortunately, no matter how good the Flyers may be in other aspects, until they have a decent power play and can finish on their chance, they will never be a serious contender.
