Awesome work, Danny B! I hope hiring another old Flyers brawler was worth it.

Rich Tocchet scored over 400 goals in the NHL. It’s fine to dislike hiring but denigrating his playing career just makes you look like an idiot.

Tocchet literally ranks #1 all-time in penalty minutes for the Flyers, with 1815. Overall for his career, he has 2970, good for #10 all-time in NHL history. But sure, he’s not a brawler. Who’s the idiot here?

He is also tied for 12th in franchise history in goals. You’re acting like he is Dave Brown or something. I dislike the process of seemingly having this result in mind but Tocchet the play was more than a brawler.

Sad to see him go, but looks like he was leaving anyway, if he didn’t get the top gig. He was my preferred choice.

This is a damn tragedy. A developing team loses their best asset in player development.

That’s a shame, but assistant coaches come and go. Don’t blame him at all for wanting to move on. Time to find the next guy.

Head coaches come and go pretty quickly around the Flyers too, and they haven’t had a really impactful one in a while.

(Not to be mistaken for Gary B, the OG)

This is a huge loss, imo. The work he has done this young D corp was incredible.
I hope shaw finds what makes him happy elsewhere. He seems like a really good dude

Remember this week a few years from now. If/when Tocchet doesn’t work out, this will hurt even more.

Two steps backwards in a couple of days. Must be the Flyers.

It’s probably not what Shaw would want at this point in his career, but wouldn’t having Shaw coach the phantoms be amazing? you really want to build, invest at LHV. The next three years there are going to be very important and they have Chance to be a good team. Shaw can go win a Calder cup in 2027 and then take over for tochett when the flyers have a shitty October to start the 27-28 campaign.
