I’m sure there are some who will be horrified by this development but I, for one, am excited to see what Briere can cook up. Maybe it’s the right decision and will work out, maybe it isn’t and it won’t. At any rate it’ll be nice to at least see the team make an effort to take a positive step forward.

Just focus on getting a bona-fide 1C first. This team desperately needs a top-line center to help unlock MM’s full potential. I’m tired of watching his teammates whiff on his incredible passes.

Just don’t say bias for winning.

I think the Flyers have bottomed out.
Not a Stanley Cup contender but a playoff contender (that probably won’t quite make it) next year
I suspect Briere can get a older, middle-of-the-pack goaltender for a 2nd-3rd round draft pick
I suspect the Power play will improve toward middle of the pack too.

I like the Front Office and think this will be a fun team to watch develop into something really good in just a couple years

He’s finally got his players and prospects coming, and soon will have his own coach. Toss in all the draft assets this year and our new guys ready to challenge for jobs with the Flyers, it feels like we are at least pointed in the right direction now.

Even if we keep going young next year, and have a down point year, come 2026-27 the money will really open up and Briere will have all his weapons to make the bigger moves.

Excited for the lottery and seeing how Danny B., will shake up this roster with draft pick(s) or player trades.

Most of the prospects mentioned should slot into the middle of the roster – if any of them turn into elite top line players, that’s a welcome bonus but statistically, the odds are not high on that front. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing – it gives the Flyers enviable depth on relatively cheap contracts – that should give them good depth if they are able to get their 1C and 1D.

Now let’s hope Colorado gets bounced early, so their 1st round pick is higher. 🙂

They need to trade Risto this offseason. Package him with picks to take a shot at a 1C though trade so we don’t have to offer sheet anyone. Mctavish is the target. Risto and Colorado’s first might get it done.

When is the Ryan Johansen situation supposed to be resolved?

I think DB is one year too early in his assessment. They need three key studs at three key positions: A young 1-C, young 1-D, and young 1-G. They should be able to draft a 1-C or 1-D with this year’s top 6 first round pick. Maybe he has to trade up if he lands at 5 or 6, but should be able to fill one of those needs. All “his” prospects are 3rd and 4th liners, maybe one or two end up second liners, I doubt it. So, DB’s focus must be that any move he makes lands them one of the three key spots mentioned above. Now, for me, one more season of tanking into a top five spot makes sense. That should get them another top liner. Then they will have talent and cap money for 2026/2027. That would be the year to add veterans and expect a true reversal into perennial playoff and cup contention. For me, I would look for one or two more subtractions, Konecny and Risto. Konecny should get them a high first round draft pick or two in return, or he could be packaged with a late first rounder for a top young talent that fits the Flyers timeline better than K does. Maybe he can get a 1-G with a package trade for K and a # 1 pick and some depth pieces in the pipeline from someone who has depth at goalie. Point is, focus on those top three needs and tank one more time.
