Nice work! I also like the names you put ahead of Caleb.

If you’re Danny and it comes down to it and all the tier 2s are gone except Desnoyers and O’Brien, do you go for the low risk lower ceiling or high risk higher ceiling?

I take Desnoyers as I think the probabilities balance out more in terms of him reaching floor and ceiling.

Another great article Alex!

I’d be the least excited landing Desnoyers out of the consensus top 6 players. It just seems like there isn’t an elite level tool to fully counter his deficiencies like the others have. Am I off on that Alex?

Let me add +1 to both of the above points.

1). Superb article, Alex. Love all the details about his play, rather than regurgitating what’s been written about the player

2). Desnoyers and Frondell are my least favorite picks – both seem “safe bets” than possible home runs. Even Hagens would worry me but atleast his upside is hard to deny.

Thanks guadzilla!

I think the Flyers should get a good player and 50+ point guy with potential to become a 1st liner whatever so long as dont go way off board.

Thanks Chris! And I agree and dont think he has quite the high end potential the others do.

No matter what happens, one of Hagens, O’Brien, McQueen and Martone should be available for the Flyers (assuming Misa and Schafer are locks for 1 and 2).

Purely based on what i have read, I’d like to see the Flyers go for one of them, as they appear to have the highest upside. If they DO select one of Desnoyers or Frondell, I hope it is because they believe in their upside and potential as opposed to picking for positional need.

Re Desnoyers himself – some of the things i am reading (not a great shot, unable to stick handle on the right side) worry me about his upside and how well those skills will translate into the NHL. The strengths – being able to find soft seams in the D – are going to be harder to rely upon in a tighter-checking league, too.

I’m sold. Let’s draft this guy.

To me this is the most “flyers” pick of the players expected to be taken in the top 6. If all the other guys are gone and we end up with Desnoyer, that’s fine. Let him battle with Jett for that 2C spot. If Hagens or Martone are available and we pick Desnoyers because of his “hockey IQ and ability to play a 200 ft game” I will be so disappointed.

I’m attending the Draft in-person; excited to see who they end up with and how the other two #1s pan out, barring any trades. 🤗🏒

I genuinely wonder how many inferences one can even draw about the future play of a kid from the Q. Top results in a weak league getting weaker are less impressive to me.
