What’s Barkey’s skating like? He hasn’t really stood out as a burner, as far as. I am tell – although he’s agile enough at changing directions.
David LaVeck
Barkey has been one of the best skaters on the ice, he is not a burner like Tippet but he can hold his own. Go back and watch him in Game 1 of this series, he was decent for sure.

This is an interesting development for sure. I wasn’t aware of Barkey’s background at center, so I appreciate all the background you included on it in this article, well done! The way I look at it is half the job of an athlete is confidence and Barkey seems to have more than enough of that. I also was unaware of Stankoven’s size so that is saying something about not being fixated on a player’s height. It helps, obviously, but it is what you do with it that matters. Looking forward to seeing if this continues in Game 2. So, Barkey forms a new line it seems. Who loses out on being a center, Zegras?
Randy
So, the obvious comparison (given the current series) was Stankoven. My question is, does Barkey have Stankoven’s offensive upside, even w/ further physical development?
Chris
I’ve had lingering doubt(s) about Barkey and his long term fit, but I swear this kid just squashes every damn one of them as I watch him more. He’s impressive.
