Good insight into the organization’s thinking with Ersson, beyond the numbers we see. I’m losing faith in him, but the stuff you laid out explains why they still like him as a viable option.

Everyone in the organization seems to love Ersson’s personality. But it’s becoming increasingly clear that personality will not be enough to sustain his current career.

As Bill said, this article provides great “insight” into why Ersson’s teammates are still backing him. It proves that they are a loyal bunch which is both good and bad. The good is that they will hopefully give the same treatment to other teammates down the road. The bad is that they are blind to reality which I believe is the case here. Sam’s numbers have been bad for a while now and they seem to be trending worse. I do agree that there is a better goalie in there but I have a feeling that he may never find his footing again. I was hoping that Vladar would rub off in him and he could at least regain the form he showed as Hart’s backup. Sam will have the rest of the season to turn it around, after that it will be too late with the prospects on the horizon.

I remember seeing that post game interview with TK and I clocked it right away, too. I don’t know if this is something anyone here would pick up on but his post-win goalie hugs are always so heartfelt and genuinely proud and grateful. He was that way with Fedotov, too. TK is a good team guy and I do really think Ersson has had a completely unlucky go of it since whatshisname left. But because TK is such a good team guy, he knows the best chance any of them have is to pump Sam up especially in the face of negative outside noise.
I’ve come around to Coots since the anti-Coots propaganda machine left town (Torts) and I think he’s a good captain. I think TK would be a GREAT captain, though.
