That was as feisty a post game presser as I’ve seen from Taco.

Had all the chances, good sticks by Avs in high danger situations including several by Landeskog and a missed penalty shot. Close but not enough.

Missed opportunity but great fight against a team playing otherworldly hockey even if they were fatigued.

Andrae had a hell of a game. He showed some lateral movement I didn’t know he had – the one slick move into the middle where his shot just missed the top corner was pretty amazing, even without the finish. I was always kind of on the fence about a 5’9″ D-man long term, but this dude belongs.

I’ve given up even complaining about Ersson…

We need much more from Konecny. I am a fan, and was on board with his LTC. But, I expect him to be a 35 plus goal scorer. He needs to really pick it up. And, kudos to Jett and Porter for making Team Canada.

If not for the lull in the first after scoring early the Flyers might have fared better as you noted. I am in agreement that extra minutes should not be going to the fourth line especially when they were trailing throughout. Michkov will never progress defensively if not given the chance. Why not put him on the ice to score and then take a defensive posture? Makes no sense when the coach doesn’t want them to back-in defensively but he wants to deploy lines that way. I do agree on Andrae who looked great against strong competition. This is my eventual hope for Michkov…
