Re toch’s quote: Narrator – They did not…

I dont know if this was a proof-of-concept of the Tocchet system, to be honest. I mean, yes, you did have players crashing the net at the right time, so from that point of view, it worked. But this was also a game where a big portion of the offense came off the rush – so it was easier for the players to shooting windows (in terms of both position on ice and the flexibility to take a shot at the best moment).
Now i realize that not every team is going to be as structurally inept as the Hawks, and this sort of game against Colorado or Edmonton will get you torched – but i reckon a little more creative freedom (as provided by Torts), without going into full “run and gun” mode, would probably help improve the offense.

What do you think they will do with the goalies this weekend?
Vladar back to back or does Ersson deserve the Detroit game and Vladar gets Dallas?
Charlie O'Connor
AuthorErsson absolutely is going to get one of the two. My guess is Vladar gets Detroit and Ersson gets Dallas.
David LaVeck
I would agree especially since Ersson just played. Looking for a bounce back from Vladar who has been noting but solid all season, it is just too bad that Ersson took all season to find his form…

I appreciate the xG historical references that you mentioned regarding this game. It looked lime an NHL vs AHL game to be real and I can’t remember the last time the Flyers so outclassed an opponent. I dare say the Flyers left some goals out there esp with the high danger chances that you listed. Looking for more of this which resembled the first period against the Blue Jackets but with scoring.
