I get strong “back seat coaching vibes” from this article, interestingly – fuelled in no small part by statements like “But it doesn’t appear that the three-game benching magically “fixed” him.”

Was anyone really thinking that the 3-game benching was going to be an immediate fix? Or could it be a course correction whose outcome is more of a long-term thing? Much as it seems to hurt the delicate and fragile sensibilities of so many fans who interpret it as being solely punitive, the Torts benchings do seem to have some educational benefits (eg, Michkov has definitely playing a lot better in the system after his benching).

Am ok dealing with these growing pains and teaching moments with the young players – it is kinda to be expected.
