Great stuff, Alex. All of of them sound like gambles worth taking.

Any idea who some of the younger-than-typical prospects might be in this draft, whose production has only picked up in the late stages of the past season? I feel that’s a well the Flyers will likely be drawn towards – a chance to gamble on predicted upside. But i would be quite happy with any of the above as well.

Suvanto is very young for the draft and might be there. Do worry his skillset limits him to maybe just a good 3C though.

I was wondering when we would start seeing stuff from you Alex!

Villeneuve almost seems too good to be true for the 21st pick, no matter if he is under 6′. You got me excited about the possibility!

Mathis Preston seems to be the biggest swing. According to reports and his peers, he’s one of the most talented players, but also one of the most inconsistent in terms of having that work ethic and compete level. I think that’s a guy the Flyers have traditionally avoided. If I read it right, he’s also kind of selfish/me-first.

On the right team and in the right culture, he could explode. It would be a team where he’s not relied on to be the star but supporting cast. His approach/mindset sound like Alexander Semin in a way. Extremely talented, but…

He was my last cut from this list aha. If I had another 500 words or so in me for the piece he would have been included

Thanks Alex! Appreciate your input on draft eligibles. Those guys and Preston are upside swings for sure.

There are some great options for forward, center, and defense in this article, Thank you for all the details and research, Alex! A case can really be made for any of these being a good selection based in this information. I can’t wait to see who they pick!
