A bit early to have this discussion, but given how effective Risto has been in the first pairing, i wonder if the Flyers should consider extending him for a few more years – especially if they ARE able to land a top-6 center in the offseason and seriously looking to contend from next season. A rugged veteran D-man is always good to have on the roster if you are trying to compete in the playoffs, and the Flyers arent cap constrained either.

This lets Bonk maybe take up the second pairing with Drysdale and Jiricek the 3rd pairing with York/Andrae, and Seeler as #7.

I wouldn’t fight you over this suggestion, Risto has shown he is indeed an asset in the playoffs as most assumed he would be. We have invested enough in him already and are finally getting a good return, now is not the time to dump him.

Funny that you mention the winning more than three games in a row, as I had that same thought going into this game. That coupled with the Pens goalie change worried me. It seems the Flyers have some problem scoring on Silov. We may be seeing him in net for the remainder of the series.
Missing from the score sheet too often lately:
Tyson Forester
Michkov
Konecny
We need these guys to step up here and finish off this series. We missed a golden opportunity for the team to match Carolina’s down time between series.
Also, we need to see Coots and Co. knocking Crosby all over the ice, as they did in game one of the series. Once they get under his skin, the Pens come apart.
We need a big response here as many feel the Pens could get right back in this series. Time to begin a new winning streak here,.

Good on you including TK as that was only his second playoff goal and he was on the ice for 3 GA. With his minutes and shifts which were very high last game he has underperformed.

By 7:00 pm, I assume the league means the game will start somewhere around 7:35. It’s amazing how literally none of their games have started on time.

I respect all your points and agree with you that I would not sit Michkov either, unfortunately it is not us to us. The Flyers metrics for the game were worse than I would have thought especially when the Pens really won the game on a lucky goal that was misplayed by Vladar. If that is the best that the Pens have, the Flyers should be good.
