What sort of realistic output can we expect from Grebenkin this season, Charlie? 30-35 points? Or more?

Some of it would be usage related but by all accounts, it seems possible he may play LW2 with Zegras and MM. That would be an indication that the coaches think he is ready to be a top 6 forward.

I like the idea of Grebby with MM and Z just for physicality/grease purposes – he could probably pot 20+ greasy goals just off rebounds with them. I’d worry about that line’s defensive capabilities, though.

Would be fun to watch for sure, though.

DB likely disagrees but my dream outcome is a lot of 4-3 losses caused by soft goals.

If he plays the whole season? Yeah, I think something in the 25-30 point range is a reasonable hope. But he’ll have to earn his starts. I don’t think he’s a lock to dress every night.

Thanks! The eternal optimist in me hopes that maybe he touches 40-45 playing with those two…. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Interested in further thoughts on Tippet, who just doesn’t seem to fit confortably anywhere. Not a good fit with Zegras/Michkov, agreed. Could swap him with Grebenkin, but does Grebs fit any better w/ those two? If you keep Foerester/Cates/Brink together, which you have to based on play, then that leaves Tippet as 4LW, which makes zero sense?!!

What to do?

Tippett will likely function best when paired with a C who can set him up, In my dream scenario, that would be Luchanko, who also has the speed to keep up.

Grebenkin earned a place on the opening day roster. Tippett is not the 3rd Forward to play with Z and Michkov. Zamula does not look very good at all. And the Cates, Foerster and Brink line needs to stay together. That leaves Jett as the 4C if Dvorak plays Wing, or the 5C if he is the 4C. Which is the long way of saying Jett belongs with the Phantoms, and since that is not a possibility, he belongs back in Juniors.

If Luchanko makes the team, he’s gonna be 3C, i think. Neither Cates nor Dvorak should remain locked at C and block him – and it would be malpractice to have him play 4C minutes with 4th line wingers.

Crazy thought. Luchenko on the wing for zegras and michkov. Defensively solid. Does the little things. Brings speed. Happy to be a support player. Might learn something about offense as an added bonus

Not a bad compromise actually!

Great observations on these 5 players, some of them more important than others but still in the Flyers plans for the immediate future. I agree about Luchanko sitting too, didn’t make sense.
