The Flyers were missing some key pieces and the timing against that team with Ersson in net it just seemed this was going to be the inevitable result. Now with that said Sam Ersson is terrible. It like you take your 7th defenseman and say “guess what you are in net tonight.” Sam Ersson needs to be traded (I know you won’t get much but I don’t care) or sent down to Lehigh Valley (and I don’t know if that is possible) and if he is exposed to waivers so what. He isn’t good at all. I mean how does it feel to know when you hit the ice and he is in net you have very little shot at winning.
My brother and sister-in-law went to the game last night and I texted him when I saw Ersson was in goal and I said
“good luck but you are not seeing a win”. Sam Ersson needs to go.

Your comment is harsh, but accurate. If the Flyers truly are serious about making the playoffs, they can’t keep sending Ersson out there once a week. Not only are they giving away points, but they run the risk of overusing and tiring Vladar. Whether it’s a trade or calling up Kolosov (who has been hot in Lehigh Valley but might not be much better) and carrying three goalies (not ideal), they need to make a change and quickly. The Eastern Conference playoff race is too close to wait any longer.

Matthew I am an older fan who grew up reading Hochman, Jasner, Forbes and columnists of that generation. They believed in calling things they way they saw them. It maybe harsh but I won’t candy coat terrible play. It’s what made Philly the town it is.

If the Flyers DO trade for a goalie, it better be someone on a short-term contract and with relatively low capital expended – they have no business giving up significant assets to shore up a playoff run this year. Not should they bring up Kolosov or Bjarnasson unless they truly ARE ready for NHL minutes.
Give it a go with what you have, and let the chips fall where they may.
PS – a few years ago, Ersson actually looked better than Carter Hart for stretches of the season. His fall has been precipitous!

Bobby brink is a key piece ?

Another positive message!!!

Replying to Tippett: you pay your hard earned $ to sit and watch that game and don’t have a reaction…we get it, you’re all trying to support Ersson. Here’s an idea, maybe that isn’t working and you should give him some tough love and have him rise up that way. Your criticism of the team in this game is warranted, when Hathaway is the best player on the 4th line after taking all season to finally score you know something went wrong. Here’s hoping tonight goes better…
