“No time to panic” Really? This team just when you would like to get on board after a big win with much effort by them over the Ducks, all too often reverts right back to something that is just hard to watch. It’s almost uncanny how often they miss the net on shots. For something as basic as that you might think they would have practices where they rush the net and look for corners of the net to shoot at, perhaps over and over. What do they do at practice anyway? Also, that first goal by Tampa last night: Why was the guy that scored even on his feet? I notice that our players get knocked on their behinds when they setup in front of the opposing goalie, not us. We let the guy hack away and get a cheap goal. This team does not lack effort, it does lack focus and yes I think talent. We need much more of that. The vets such as Coots, TK and Sanhiem all need to be better.
I don’t buy any positive linings, they just lost two games by what is really a wide margin, and I think they will yes, lose the next two. One other question: Why do they seem to get the Pens on the tail end of back to backs, now once again? Perhaps someone in the organization might recognize this as something that is a disadvantage for the team? This team is not yet good enough that I want to spend my hand earned money to go there and watch. They need more will and more skill.

I repeat something i posted earlier – at what point do we point out that trying to make Michkov a checker along the boards isnt necessarily the best way to harness his talent?

Yes, he needs to have the ability to play down there – you dont win in the playoffs by floating away from the tight checking. But this grinding scheme isnt really suited to his skills either.

I wish they would start to tried actually new things with the PP. Throw 5 forwards out there or give Grebenkin a chance in front of the net. Not just putting different combos out there with the same personnel that hasn’t executed at all for multiple years.

Kudos to finding 3 stars in this game! Tough back to back games against the same opponent in their home arena, kind of embarrassing. Their same issues remain with the power play, finishing and goaltending. Vladar gets a pass where Ersson does not.
