I need clarification. Did the Flyers make the playoffs?

Michkov is probably my favorite of the younger crop – uber-competitive and plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Excited about this post-season – i have missed the intensity of playoff hockey and if they beat Crosby, even better. And even more excited to see what DB can do next year with tweaking the roster.

A very minor point to last night’s game was Hunter MacDonald flattening a Canadiens player on Bonk’s goal. I loved the hit, clean and punishing. What I liked even more was the fact that two Montreal players went after MacDonald and totally forgot the Flyers were still in the offensive zone and instead of trying to play defense they thought about retaliation. Result? Bonk puts it in the net. If that is what MacDonald can bring to the Flyers I am looking forward to it.

I thought from a pure defensive standpoint, McDonald was the best of the three kids (Bonk/Jiricek being the others). He paired well with Bonk. I’d love to see that pairing next year!

This game served as a showcase of the Flyers youth, both NHL players and prospects alike. Michkov pretty much took over the game from the start on the top line and looked every bit the part of a top line player. Martone looked every bit the part as well. The present and the future are bright for these young players!
