As always, in playoff hockey, it comes down to who wants it more. Obviously, we have our answer on this as to which team that was last night. Maybe Tocchet should make the team sit down and watch reruns of select parts of the first three games to remind them what it took to get to 3-0 in this series. It is so disappointing to watch this team come out flat two games in a row. And yes, it might be time to sit Tyson Forster as he again continues to go missing on the score sheet. As a matter of fact most of the team is missing. It is starting to look like this team wants to give up it’s first ever 3-0 lead and may go on to lose this series. What a shame. I’m not sure I can stand watching them just blow it. It’s time to go back to knocking the Pens around the way they did in the beginning of this series.

Time to split up the lines a bit. I would be interested in

Bump – Zegras – TK
Barkey – Dvorak – Tippet
Foerster – Cates – Martone

as the top 9. Move TK over to the right side again. Martone and Foerster on the 3rd line should crush there

Interesting combos here. My dad and I were just texting and he suggested putting Michkov back in and putting Foerster with Glendening and Coots, sit Hathaway. I like this idea. Hathaway was a liability last night, between the bad change and penalties. And Juulsen in for Andrae.

The tension just got ratched it upwards. Game 6? Lets get the first goal and have the Penguins chase the game a little. The other issue besides missing the net and a woeful PP is the Flyers falling behind. All elements that haunted them during the regular season.

Last night the Flyers allowed the Pens to motor through the neutral zone at will unlike the earlier games in this series. Crosby is doing more free wheeling unlike the earlier games when the Flyers were putting a body on him.

The Flyers need to get back to their games 1-3 persona because no one wants game 7.

It didn’t cost them last night’s game but the officiating was poor.

Yeah this game left a lot to be desired. Bump earned his spot and should be in the lineup for the foreseeable future as a result. The metrics for the Flyers in this game are especially bad. I believe that lines should be shuffled for game 6. I would make the easy call, sit Hathaway as he has been taken advantage of in the two losses and hasn’t provided much like he did in the 1st three. I would move Foerster down to the 4th line, he looks gassed as does Coots, so save them for the PK. I would want all my best players in. TK needs to move with either Zegras or Cates. I wouldn’t mind a line with Michkov & Martone where they could set each other up. I am not sure this would ever happen in the playoffs but I believe it would work. Onto Game 6…Let’s Go Flyers!!!

Great breakdown. I’ve listened all year and try to learn from you. I remember after mid season a lot of these teams in the playoffs including us , “ have no chance” for a cup run. We’re watching the middle mix teams doing playoff hockey and it shows. Most of the first round games , every night is a crapshoot.
