Good to see all this emerging depth – they will need it to trade for Kazparov. 🙂
Jokes apart, i like the idea of having York carry his pair, if is able to. But that begs the questions, who is Sanheim’s partner? None of the candidates listed seem like top-pairing defenders.
Sanheim – ??
York – Grans
Drysdale – Seeler

The Flyers are not likely to make the playoffs, considering the goaltending. Speaking for myself, I’d like the Flyers to start the season with Grebenkin, Bump, Luchanko and Grans on the roster. The worse that could happen is the Flyers land in a prime draft spot while still developing their young talent.

I dont necessarily think throwing a player in the NHL to sink-or-swim is the best way to develop them… depends where they are along the curve.
But yes, i do think that this is another season where the focus should be on player development, especially of this younger wave.

Charlie, what’s the real status of Nesbitt’s skating? You termed it still a major weakness and we have also seen comments about marked improvement from Riley Armstrong and the Phantoms Coach. Those are not necessarily contradictory opinions. He could still show marked improvement and also be majorly weak at skating. Do you think he can get to mediocre enough as a skater to be a good overall player?
