You know, I don’t want to be one of “those fans” – but does Tocchet ever miss a chance to take a dig – even an off-handed one – at Michkov? Listen to his post came comments last game (about the line changes and how it helped ot put someone with Coots who can skate) and then the ones tonight. I have been a Flyers fan since 1973 – and I cannot remember so many “tosses under the bus” to the press as lately by team leadership. And…. watch that second goal for Buffalo again… don’t just watch Coots fly the zone early (yes, I read Charlie’s perspective about how understandable it is) – but watch him AFTER the turn over happens. Do YOU see a player digging in to get back into the play (even if he would not have made it back in time)? Now look at that overtime goal from the other night – not just TK’s give away but Coots losing his man…. Now look at the stats in this game… yes, Michkov did not score – but 90% expected goals? This was a great opportunity to make a positive comment… buid confidence… but nope…. not a positive peep about him. I am really worried that this team leadership group does not have what it takes to help maximize the potential that Michkov brings. I am starting to believe that, as is usually the case, even if I disagree with someone (Torts) that does not mean that there was not truth embedded in some of his perspectives….. ah well… on to New York, eh?

Great analysis of a game the Flyers let slip away as it went on. Cam York’s honest assessment hit the mark as they have some growing up to do especially the vets who should know better. I still do not understand the deployment of players when they are trailing as they always seem to be in defensive mode. Sometimes you have to go the other way.
