I know it’s unfair to pin everything on a single game, but man oh man… that loss to CBJ a few days ago hurts. They would have been in a playoff position already, had they won that.

Anyway, enough of all this talk of tanking and needing a 1C/1D/1G and all that that… let’s hope they make the playoffs. If I am going to watch this godawful boring system, I want the games to mean something. It’s been so long, that I dont even hate the Rangers and Devils anymore.

But we still hate the Pens. We will always hate the Pens.

One of my most memorable moments as a Flyers fan was the 1996 or 1997 playoff run (when the Flyers made the SC and got swept by the Wings) – Lindros blowing by Lemieux in the waning minutes of the game to either negate an icing or score an empty netter…. (the same playoffs where he scored a game winner against the Rangers with 6 seconds left).

Eff the Pens as well.

The worst possible outcome is they play well, Ersson stays hot, but they miss playoffs on tiebreaker and Flyers decide to resign Ersson rather than recognize he has had good short streaks before but always reverts to a pumpkin.

Bravo! The Flyers stepped up against a formidable opponent and captured an unexpected win. Your 3 Stars all shined bright on this night and kept the team in contention for the playoffs. The big question is whether Ersson can keep this up in the long term? I am curious to see what the Flyers do in the offseason with regards to his contract, a tough call indeed.
