“It’s the goaltending, stupid.”

That’s it. Look at the numbers under Hart last year vs. the rest of the season. An ace netminder solves a whole host of issues.

There is little mention of the D group in this article. Following the Sean Walker trade combined with the long term absence of both Seeler and Drysdale clearly lent to the struggles of the final two months last season. Jump ahead to 24-25 and we see long absences of York, Seeler, Drysdale along with a struggling Zamula and Risto playing his way back into form easily explained the slow start. Danny and EJ were the only two health options on a nightly basis. Sadly, Emil Andrea is also having a difficult time staying healthy. I always think “Strong up the middle” is the path to success and this club is a long way from that. Look at the center position. 14, 48, 21, 25 are the best group of Centers we can ice on a nightly basis? I’m thinking Danny & Keith have more problems to solve that solutions right now.
