Great analysis Charlie, although you were overly kind to Tippett once again demonstrating his mastery of whatever the opposite of hockey sense is.

Hey Charlie, great article as usual! Question for you. The current rules for challenging offsides have bothered me for some time now, so I thought today would be a good time to ask your thoughts on modifying them. To me, if the offense gains the zone, establishes possession after the initial entry and/or shot on goal, the play should not be challengeable. In other words, if you score off the initial rush/entry, then yes, by all means review. However, if the O-team retains the puck and controls play in the zone, then no. What say you?

The thing that pisses me off about the offsides call on Tippett was his nonchalant comments afterwards. I could see being that way if he was still tearing it up in the points standings, but not when he is in the middle of one of his patented multi-game disappearing acts.

Another tough OT ending. Great job of giving words to the game, Charlie! Tippett is all gas and no brakes which is why he is so streaky as sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t. Good to see Michkov and York still playing well. Vladar was the star of the show and even gracious in defeat.
