For all that i have been complaining about Tocchet’s conservative scheme, it is precisely during games like this that it is effective, by mitigating the effect of the talent gap.

And for the record – yet again, Tippett was more effective off the rush.

Come on, Tocchet. Just keep Zegras in center and Michkov on RW. This really isn’t that hard.

To be fair, we do know they were trying to develop him as a C. So it is possible that this is the outcome of that development.

For a team in dire need of Cs, and knowing that Zegras is one of the most skilled players on the roster who also was a C, i think we can safely assume that they’d prefer for him to become a C.

I agree with your overall praise of the Flyers especially against such a formidable opponent and this having been the second game of a back to back. Such a showing does give one hope that this team has maybe taken a step forward in just winning the second game in a back to back, something unheard of with any recent Flyers team. While they will most likely not make the playoffs their resilience is being seen and can for once be admired. This is a team to be proud of.
