With all the polemic on why they should be tanking, the dissection of Tort’s every single move in a vacuum, etc, games like this as a reminder that the fundamental basis of being a fan is having a team that is fun to watch.
This team has its talent deficiencies and flaws. But for the most part, they play hard and for the second year, seem to be out-performing their talent level.
How can you NOT appreciate that?
Matt
As someone who used to see 10 games in person and watch around 70 each year, I just can’t devote that amount of time to the team right now. I know they need to tank and lose for the betterment of the team, so I don’t mind seeing the losses in the box score the next day, but I can’t watch a game and hope they lose. Yesterdays game was awesome and in glad they won.
Now trade Risto since we know Andrea can play, trade Laughton because he’s not really helping anyway, and let’s shelter Frost and Farabee to bump their stats so we can trade them as well.

Zibanejad’s miss was unreal. I saw that wide open net, and him gearing up to shoot, and couldn’t believe he missed it. It really was the Flyer’s game. That might be the only time I’ve seen that guy not be a factor in a game against us. I’m not sure what is going on with the Rangers but I hope it continues….

due to geographic proximity, and much lower ticket costs, we will always have Rangers fans coming to visit down here. What I saw yesterday was that for the first time in for years, was those visiting fans not being able to take over the rink, because our team didn’t let them. The few rangers chants early were easily drowned out by the home fans and by the 2d period they were not chanting anymore. The Rangers fans yesterday learned we are no longer a push over. This is not an easy win for them anymore. This was not fun for them. That more than anything will start to turn the tide.

Eloquently stated!

Somehow, some way, the boys are one OT goal against off of their 24-game pace of last season:
23-24: 12-10-2
24-25: 11-10-3
