Dare i say it – the Flyers look dangerous on the offense, now that they are carrying in the puck and using their talent better?

Get Michkov a better C and a PP QB – both of which are more easily accomplished than trying to get a PPG C – and this is a pretty complete team!

Also, while i was moaning about Tocchet’s system earlier, credit where it is due – he has adapted it to make it more effective, and his super-charged 4th line with Coots and Luke is a genuine playoff asset.

I agree about getting Michkov in a better line, the dream is him and Martone on the first line with a true 1C. The 4th line has been Tocchet’s stamp on this team as the rest of the decisions were evident already.

Loved mentioning the cates pick for Mich. Small detail that gave Mich the space he needed to get off the killer shot. So good!

Great redemption game for the Flyers defense and most of their recently maligned players. Chief among them was the PK that was actually +1 in this game as you mentioned. The goaltending was also light years better as Vladar, after initially looking shaky recovered quickly and looked stellar the rest of the game. Coots play was best summed up by your line of: “It was like stepping into a time machine.” Vintage Coots indeed. My Michkov highlight went largely unnoticed as he back-checked all the way to the goalie to break up a scoring chance, it was the best defensive play I have ever seen him make and should be commended. His snipe was exceptional as well. This team is really coming together at just the right time. 3 more points is all they need!
