It would be interesting to know what the projected cap space is the following year, 2026/2027, to see if they could make a FA splash for a stud elite 1-C or 1-D, or even 1-G. When is this Ellis albatross of a contract gone?

Briere and the cap team deserve a lot of credit for how they structured his contract. If it was not centered around the signing bonus, they would not have been able to move it without a sweetener. Good business all around.
