The guy is 22 going on 23, still filling out. D men take longer to develop. This season is key in seeing the pieces fit together for him.

I had mentioned this on the other site a while ago.

When the Flyers got Coffey, he was at the tail end of his career and a shell of what he once was. But i clearly remember one rush where he took the puck behind the net and skated it all the way up the ice to the opposing faceoff circle, before passing to a forward for a shot. He didnt have Pavel Bure’s breathtaking acceleration. He didnt do a lot of fancy stick work. He just… flowed around the opposing team. And this was in the peak of the clutch’n’grab era.

It’s been 30 years but this one skate is etched in my mind. I have not seen any Flyers D-man ever do something similar – not Desjardins, not Pronger, not Timmonen…. until Drysdale did something similar in one game. The Force is strong in him.

Drysdale is the D-man i most excited about seeing this season. Finger crossed, he develops well – because if he does, he is going to be a LOT of fun to watch.
