If they are so worried about culture that they can’t part with a 31 year old 3rd line center then the rebuild was never serious.

Exactly. “Culture” emphasis is an excuse for weak management afraid to go hard after the required resources to acquire elite talent in a true rebuild. What good is culture without elite talent in pro sports. Answer, worthless.

As much as he is ingrained in Philly and plays a style Philly fans love, if you get a good deal you have to take it. Sign him back in 1.5 years for the locker room if they’re contending. Lord knows he’ll probably come back as a skills coach or something when he retires.

We are going to learn a lot about this GM and Prez of Flyers and their abilities to rebuild by the end of the day today. They have two golden tickets and it will be interesting to see if they cash in or not.
